McLaren driver Lando Norris has shared his excitement ahead of the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix. Norris recently lost the 2024 driver’s championship to Max Verstappen, who finished P5 at the Las Vegas GP.

Lando Norris‘ performances have been brilliant for the most part this year. He has amassed three wins and 12 podiums for the Woking-based team. His efforts have nevertheless also cost him multiple wins solely due to the lack of awareness on track.

Norris has since talked of performing well for his team this week in Lusail. The 25-year-old has now set his sights on securing the constructors’ championship for the Papayas. McLaren stands atop the title charts with a lead of 24 points over second-placed Ferrari.

I’m looking forward to returning to Qatar. It was a very good race for us last year, and we aim to do even better this year. It’s also the final sprint of the year, so we’ll be looking to bring home as many points as possible.

Max Verstappen has capitalized largely on the Brit despite not having the most competitive package. Norris’ objective will now be to fully utilize the capabilities of his fast MCL38 heading into the final races of 2024.

Lando Norris and Max Verstappen have battled hard for wins and podiums since the Miami Grand Prix this year. On many occasions, the Brit has massively ousted the Dutchman as well. But ultimately, it was Verstappen who claimed the ultimate accolade.

Lando, I know him, of course, for a long time already. To race a friend of yours to the title is always a little bit different. But I think we have a lot of respect for each other. And yeah, well, I’m sure that we’ll have many more battles to come.

During the races at Austin and Mexico, the two drivers were involved in hefty on-track altercations. Both received reprimands for their mistakes, which invoked tensions between their teams. However, Verstappen has set all speculations straight by claiming that the two still respect each other.

Norris, in many ways, has shown that he has what it takes to become a future world champion. This year’s battles have been a learning experience for both the Brit and the Dutchman. The 2024 Formula 1 season might be nearing an end, but the tale of the two talented drivers continues from here on.
