McLaren driver, Lando Norris has said that his team is in a position to challenge Red Bull’s Max Verstappen provided they make no mistakes in the upcoming races. The Woking-based team has been in fine form this season and is one of the most convincing outfits besides Red Bull.

We’re on a level now where everything has to be perfect. We’re against one of the best drivers ever in F1, who’s performing at an incredibly high level, and anything that wasn’t perfect, like my start, you pay the price for. Simple as that.
Lando Norris said to the media ahead of Austrian GP

McLaren is currently third in the championship and has narrowly missed out on probable victories in the last two races. The team will now look to give it their all in an attempt to muster wins in Spielberg and Silverstone which will play a major role in shaping up their title chances this season.

I mean, I'm confident every weekend we go into now, the car is performing extremely well. We're always there or thereabouts within a couple of tenths of pole, and that's all we can ask for. I think we need to bring something a little bit more just to make our life a bit easier.

Lando Norris has claimed that the papaya outfit has been just a few tenths on or off the pole positions for quite a few races, which is a good sign for them. But the 24-year-old has also emphasized the little aspects, in which, McLaren appears to be lacking by a fractional margin to Red Bull.

The Andrea Stella-led team now faces tough competition from Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes, who will look to outpace the MCL38 around the track in Austria. However, Norris has backed his team to come out on top, with the 24-year-old saying that the MCL38 is a strong challenger around every track, despite compromising odds that may come along the way.
