Red Bull headed into the 2024 F1 season as the favorites for the world title. However, Milton Keynes faced a stiff challenge from rivals including McLaren over the course of the year. Now, Lando Norris has highlighted a major failure of the Austrian squad.

Max Verstappen managed to win his fourth F1 world title in a hard-fought campaign. However, Red Bull could not defend its constructors’ crown and finished third in the standings. As Sergio Perez scored 280 points less than the reigning world champion.

Lando Norris asserted that Red Bull would have easily bagged the constructors’ title if both of its drivers performed instead of just Verstappen. Norris labeled this scenario as ‘clear’ and ‘obvious,’ taking a subtle jibe at the Mexican driver’s failure to bring results.

Red Bull probably would have won the constructors’ if they had two drivers as good as Max. That’s for sure. It’s clear and obvious. It shows as a team, they’ve still probably done the best job

Lando Norris ‘doesn’t care’ about Max Verstappen’s teammates

Red Bull has replaced Sergio Perez with Liam Lawson this season. Lawson is expected to be a better performing teammate to Max Verstappen. Though, Lando Norris did not seem concerned. The British driver affirmed that he did not care who was partnering Verstappen at Milton Keynes.

It’s got nothing to do with me, I don’t care. He can have whoever he wants as a team-mate.

Lando Norris added

Certainly, Liam Lawson could fix a major problem at Red Bull in recent years. If the Kiwi driver can match Max Verstappen, the Austrian team would finally be in an equal fight against the likes of McLaren and Ferrari. However, fans will need to wait till Lawson’s debut to see if the 22-year-old can live up to these expectations.
