Lando Norris has continued his attempts to maximize points in every race as the season finale inches closer. Max Verstappen has still continued to hold onto the lead after a positive outing at the previous US GP. Norris could only manage a second-row start behind the championship leader at the Mexican GP as the former faced his fair share of problems on the circuit.
Multiple drivers crashed on the track over the initial sessions and red-flagged multiple sessions. Even Lando Norris faced some problems as he couldn’t score the pole position despite great pace from the chassis. Speaking upon the Qualifying performance, Norris noted that he was quite happy with the results.
Lando Norris further claimed that he gave it his all for the final two laps of the qualifying session. Regardless, Norris couldn’t score a front-row start after Carlos Sainz lodged a dominant lap for the pole position. Hence, even the Briton accepted that Sainz was quick throughout the weekend and deserved the pole position.
Lando Norris: It's always tough to say. I'm pretty happy. I couldn't get alot more out of it in the last two laps. Carlos has looked quick all weekend

Red Bull and Ferrari continue to inch closer to McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship
Red Bull’s incessant struggles and Ferrari’s inconsistency had enabled McLaren to easily acquire the constructors’ championship lead. Moreover, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri‘s dominant performance enabled the team to secure a great lead over the rivals. However, the Mexican GP witnessed a disappointing situation for Woking amidst their championship ambitions.
Oscar Piastri suffered a Q1 elimination and Lando Norris qualified behind Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz. Hence, both the teams are looking hopeful of scoring great points over the race weekend as Norris has a tough battle ahead. McLaren currently has a 40-point lead over Red Bull followed closely by Ferrari with a gap of 48 points.
The Mexican GP would be extremely interesting to witness as both the championships look completely open. Max Verstappen is likely to win the drivers’ championship with McLaren dreaming of the constructors’ win. However, anything can happen in the five remaining races as all the teams and drivers set their eyes on the prize.
