Lando Norris has finally regained the title lead against Oscar Piastri in the 2025 season. Norris is leading the campaign with just a single point over his Aussie counterpart. Moreover, the in-form Max Verstappen has cut down the point disparity between him and the title lead to just 36 points.

As such, the reigning world champion cannot be counted out of the battle at this point in the championship. However, Norris is confident that he doesn’t need to change his racing approach against the Dutchman.

Max Verstappen had started the season off in decent form after winning two races early on. Midway through the year, the Dutchman lost significant performance and had almost given up on his title-winning chances.

However, a recent race-winning streak and continuous podium finishes have helped him rejoin the battle to fight for the driver’s title. After the Dutchman cut down a point difference of over 100 points to just 36 points, Lando Norris isn’t counting him out.

Lando Norris insisted that Max Verstappen had been quick all season and achieved many pole positions. The Briton boldly claimed that the Dutchman was never bad in terms of pace, and hence it wasn’t a surprise now to witness Red Bull’s sudden resurgence. Norris added that Verstappen was simply doing what he does best and hence started performing much better on the track.

However, Lando Norris accepted that Max Verstappen’s resurgence did not mean that he would change his racing style. The Briton noted that his racing approach was to win races every weekend, and it would be the same for the final races of the 2025 season. Norris noted that he would continue with his hunt for his maiden championship win regardless of Verstappen’s pace in the final races.

He’s been quick all season, had many pole positions, and it is not that they were ever bad, so it is not a surprise that when it clicks a bit more and they get the car in a better place, then Max does what he does and they’re catching up. But at the same time, it doesn’t change anything that I do, I try and win a race every weekend, that is my approach, has been for a while, and that’s the approach I’ll continue with.

Lando Norris told RacingNews365.

Lando Norris claims he can ‘do nothing’ about Max Verstappen’s sudden resurgence

Lando Norris was trailing Oscar Piastri by a big point deficit as well. However, Piastri’s failure in recent races, coupled with a highly positive outing by the former, helped him regain the title lead easily. Still, Norris insisted that it wasn’t easy to cut down the 30-point difference to Piastri in the standings.

Further, Lando Norris insisted that he was doing a good job in his current state against an incredible driver in the same car. However, he drew attention to the fact that even Max Verstappen was now winning races and catching up in the standings. But Norris accepted that he couldn’t do anything about it but to focus on his own performances and hope to remain better on track than the latter.

It’s not like it’s been an easy return from 30-something points to what it is now, Especially against an incredible driver in the same driver, so I feel like I’ve been doing a good job, but of course, there is another guy who has been winning races and catching even more, but there is nothing we can do about him.

Lando Norris noted.

The 2025 season is nearing completion, and it has been quite a journey so far. However, despite just four races left, any driver can win the title in the final races. It will be extremely exciting to witness which driver out of the three wins in the end. Certainly, all of them have driven well so far and are equally deserving of the title win.
