Lando Norris and McLaren had an impressive campaign in 2024. The Woking-based team bagged their first constructors’ title since 1998, albeit Norris failed to defeat Max Verstappen. Now, the 25-year-old has hinted that his focus will be on the selfish title goal this year.
The British driver insisted that he does want McLaren to win the teams’ championship every season. However, Lando Norris made it clear that he also aims to finally win his maiden Drivers’ Championship in Formula 1, potentially in 2025.
The 25-year-old highlighted that he did come close to winning last year, against Max Verstappen. Though, the latter managed to turn things around in the final leg of the season. Norris claimed that he will be working on a few issues with the aim of bouncing back stronger once the season kicks off in Melbourne.
McLaren working even harder for 2025
Lando Norris revealed that McLaren have only become more focused after winning the 2024 title. He highlighted that his crew could’ve relaxed after such a triumph, but they’ve done the opposite. Norris insisted that Woking is working even harder over the winter to find a bigger advantage for the upcoming season.
Certainly, Lando Norris and McLaren will be one of the main contenders for the world championship this year. If the British driver can finally defeat Max Verstappen on-track, he might finally fulfill his dream. However, Ferrari could pose a real threat to McLaren and Red Bull in a potential three-way title fight.
