McLaren F1 racing team driver, Lando Norris has called for upping the performance against the reigning three-time world champion, Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver has been on a dominating run, having won three world championships from 2021 onwards.
Max Verstappen won 19 races in the 2023 season and has since won five out of seven races this season. The 26-year-old showed complete dominance and is looking to perform on the same level this year as well.
However, Lando Norris has urged the drivers to embrace the idea of putting Verstappen on the back foot by performing to the best of their abilities. Norris has been in fine form this season, with the MCL38 looking more than capable of challenging Red Bull’s RB20.

Both McLaren and Ferrari have picked up their pace this season and have developed cars that are more than competent to go up against the likes of Red Bull. As the ongoing season progresses, fans will get to see a tough fight between Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull in a tough fight for the drivers and the constructors championship.
Max Verstappen prepares for a tough weekend in Monaco
Max Verstappen has openly talked about how difficult and close it will be for Red Bull to keep ahead of the likes of McLaren and Ferrari at the Monaco Grand Prix. The Milton-Keynes-based team and Verstappen have started the 2024 season on a strong note with five wins from seven races, but they now face tough competition from the likes of McLaren, as seen at the Miami GP and last week at Imola.
We did work on it a bit compared to last year. I think so far on most of the tracks that we’ve been to our low-speed performance has improved a little bit, but I don’t think this is going to be a very easy weekend.Max Verstappen said in a press conference
Verstappen elaborates on why Red Bull will have a difficult weekend at Monaco, as the RB20 struggles around bumps and kerbs. The Monaco track is essentially a tight-knit 3.3 km long circuit with very fine margins. The 26-year-old is hopeful that Red Bull will try to improve their performance coming into Monaco, as they struggled at the practice sessions and even in qualifying for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
With the Monaco Grand Prix just around the corner, fans are in for an exciting weekend that will see a three-way battle. It will be fascinating to see who will come out on top on a track that has the finest of margins and tests the bravest of wills.
