After the collision with Max Verstappen at the Austrian GP. Lando Norris stubbornly refuses to change his strategy and plans for the upcoming race at Silverstone. Norris claimed he did the right thing by taking fight with Max Verstappen and will continue to do so.
Lando Norris was on a show on Wednesday where he said the team and he had reviewed everything and went over all details of that battle. After the analysis, Norris remained stubborn of not changing what he did in that race. He believed in fighting hard on the track, and that’s exactly what he did. Norris highlighted fighting with the top runners is important to him and the team, and they will continue doing it.
I reviewed everything, we’ve gone over stuff, and let’s say I won’t really change what I did. I was fighting, and that’s what we want – we want to fight.Lando Norris said, as reported by motorsport.com
Norris further stated that the team don’t want to complain about the past situation and they’re now looking towards the next race. The Briton acknowledged that neither he or Max Verstappen wanted things to end the way they did in the race. However, Lando Norris reckoned that sometimes things don’t go as planned and accepted this is how life is sometimes.
We don’t want to complain, we don’t want things to end like they did, both from my Max’s side and from my side. So, that’s life sometimes.Lando Norris added
Lando Norris claims it’s hard to pinpoint fault in wheel-to-wheel racing.
Lando Norris said it’s hard to pinpoint who’s actually at fault in battle like theirs. He reckoned things were a lot harder to do when you were actually driving. It wasn’t as simple as just asking, “Why did you do that?” or “Why didn’t you do this?” Norris added, When you are in the car, you had to make quick decisions in real-time. He highlighted that being behind the wheel was very different from watching the race from the outside. Fans might not understand the complexities involved in driving and making those split-second choices.
It’s tough, It’s a lot harder to do some things when you’re behind the wheel. It’s never as easy as saying, ‘Why did you do that? Why didn’t you do this?’ Because when you’re in the car and you’re making these decisions.Lando Norris stated
The 26-year-old added that it was really hard to be as precise as it looked on TV. When you saw something that should be exactly two centimeters, it was almost impossible to judge that while driving. The Briton pointed out that the view from inside the car was different and making those precise movements was much harder than it appeared. Norris wanted people to understand that the reality of driving was far more challenging than what it looked like on the screen.
It’s so hard to be as accurate as what it looks like on TV. So when it is those two centimeters that it should be or stuff like that, it’s almost impossible to judge.Lando Norris added
Certainly, Lando Norris felt that both he and Verstappen might be at fault but it’s difficult to judge anyway. However, fans must understand that drivers find it very hard to make quick decisions during the race, so they shouldn’t blame anyone because they don’t know the reality. The upcoming British GP could be challenging for Lando Norris as he aims to compete for victory against Verstappen and the rest of the grid.
