McLaren driver Lando Norris has aired on the side of caution despite setting the fastest time in FP2 at the Singapore GP. Norris has talked of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc‘s ability to ace his performance around street circuits.
Lando Norris has been a persistent performer this season, winning twice and securing 10 podiums so far. The 24-year-old, however, has failed to be clinical during the crucial moments, which has cost him greatly during races.

Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, has been very consistent following his extraordinary win at Monza this season. Norris has thereafter talked of being wary of Leclerc ahead of a challenging qualifying session on Saturday.
I mean, Charles is very good at street circuits. We've seen in Baku, we've seen in Monaco what he's capable of doing. I'm sure he's probably quite happy with his lap, if he wasn't happy with his lap, I'm quite worried for tomorrow.Lando Norris said after FP2 at the Singapore Grand Prix

Leclerc topped FP1 and failed to catch Norris by only five hundredths of a second in the FP2 session. The two drivers will now fight to be among the frontrunners in securing the pole position at the Marina Bay Circuit on Saturday.
Andrea Stella’s take after Friday’s running for McLaren at Marina Bay
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella was pleased with his team’s outcomes after FP1 and FP2 of the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix. The Papayas currently lead the constructors’ championship by 20 points after their win at Baku last week.

Both sessions were pretty productive, we had to do some checks to the car after kisses to the wall but otherwise Friday has been smooth for the team. We have a lot of data to look at in terms of car setup and tyre behaviours.Andrea Stella said after FP2 on Friday

Andrea Stella has labeled the Friday sessions as productive for his team. Moreover, he has emphasized the need to analyze and work on the accumulative data in order to prepare better for the extremely important qualifying session.
The last seven races of the season are very crucial for the top teams on the grid. With both championships within reach of multiple outfits and drivers, the 62-lap race in Singapore will surely be a worthy test for them.
