Lewis Hamilton set to bring Africa inspired collection as brand ambassador of luxury brand Dior

Lewis Hamilton won British GP recently for a record-breaking ninth time. Apart from showcasing his excellence on track, the Brit has been active off-track and thus, has been announced as the newest brand ambassador of Dior. To commemorate his partnership with the luxury brand, the seven-time world champion partnered up with renowned designer Kim Jones to bring an Africa inspired collection.
F1 has been expanding its landscape globally. With the championship’s goal of increasing inclusivity worldwide, fashion has appeared as a platform that multiple drivers have used to convey this message. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton has been leading the charge and had recently explained how he has been utilizing fashion to spread an important message.
The 39-year-old has formerly been part of Dior’s Runaway show in Paris and subsequently has formed formal ties with the luxury brand to launch an exclusive Africa-inspired collection in collaboration with Kim Jones.
We’ve both been talking a lot about Africa. Some of the fabrics were made in Burkina Faso. We’re working with someone who’s helping us source sustainable fabrics throughout the continent and really looking at what we can do to help get the next generation of people. I wanted to bring vibrancy, I wanted to figure out how to do something a little bit different to what Dior does so well.Lewis Hamilton said in an interview with WWD
Hamilton elaborated that he had been involved in this project for quite a while and wanted to use sustainable fabrics for his collection. Furthermore, he wants to use the collection to spread the word to the newer generation and promote sustainability while doing things differently from what usually Dior does.

On one hand, Hamilton began his new journey into the fashion world, whereas on the other, his country’s squad lost the Euros final to Spain. Witnessing this, the former seven-time world champion jumped in to support his team in times of adversity.

The Euro final was an exciting one as the game seemed to be headed for Extra Time, as both teams had a scoreline of 1-1. However, in the 86th minute, Mikel Oyarzabal scored the match-defining goal and gifted Spain their fourth Euro title. After losing the match with such close margins, Hamilton asserted that he was proud of everyone on the team.
Despite England’s loss in football, the F1 scene is being dominated by Brits for the past few weekends. Moreover, with Lando Norris, George Russell, and Hamilton claiming wins every other weekend, the title fight is set to continue in Hungary this weekend.
