Lewis Hamilton has started the 2026 season on a much more positive note than the previous year. The Briton has worked on the development of the SF-26 challenger and is looking forward to the challenge. Now, former F1 driver and present Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle has revealed how Hamilton’s positivity will change many things for him in 2026.

Following the culmination of the winter break, Lewis Hamilton revealed how he was delighted to be back and start with the preparation of the 2026 season. Moreover, the seven-time champion finally had his DNA embedded into the SF-26 challenger, and hence had much more faith in the car. Now, Martin Brundle ponders the positive indicators early on that hint that Hamilton will have a much better time in 2026.

Martin Brundle hoped that things would start to improve for Lewis Hamilton in 2026. As a Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton fan, Brundle wanted both entities to perform well under the new regulations. Moreover, the Sky Sports commentator highlighted that Hamilton already seemed much happier leading into the new season as compared to the previous year.

Further, Martin Brundle highlighted that the seven-time champion would utilize all the tools available to him at Ferrari and perform much better this year. Moreover, Hamilton is expected to defeat Charles Leclerc in the former’s sophomore year at Ferrari. Ultimately, Brundle believed that a “Happy Lewis was Fast Lewis,” indicating that his satisfaction with the challenger would help him perform better.

I hope so, for Lewis, for Ferrari. As Formula 1 fans, we always want Ferrari to do well, don’t we? And I’d love to see that come right for Lewis. He seems a bit happier. He will be great at using the tools that are available to him under the new regulations. He’s got to beat Charles Leclerc in the other Ferrari because he’s right on it as well. But a happy Lewis has always been, and not just at Ferrari, a fast Lewis.

Martin Brundle told Sky Sports F1.

Martin Brundle ‘confident’ that Lewis Hamilton will have a better year

Ferrari has remained one of the most ambitious teams on the grid this year. They even introduced a fully rotating rear wing when the overtaking mode was activated in the car. Moreover, the Italian squad completed a lot of laps during the pre-season and private testing sessions. As such, amongst many others, even Martin Brundle is confident in Lewis Hamilton to finally start achieving success at Maranello.

Martin Brundle pointed out that Ferrari had been very innovative over the winter break, and Lewis Hamilton returned to the grid with much positive feelings. Moreover, the team was looking at a much better place than before. Hence, Brundle is confident in Hamilton to have a better year this time around and stick with the team for the near future.

So I think if he comes into the season, and I have to say Ferrari have been quite innovative over the winter, and they look in a better place than we’ve seen them for a few years now. So I’m confident that Lewis will have a better year.

Martin Brundle noted.

Certainly, the 2026 season will be make or break for Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari’s performance in the first year will set its pace for the remainder of the season. Moreover, Hamilton’s continuation in Formula 1 depends on how he performs over the year. Hence, the team must emerge as a race-winning and championship-winning team for the first season of the new regulations.
