Lewis Hamilton suffered from a nightmare of a debut with Ferrari in the 2025 season. The Briton believed that the struggles stemmed from the fact that he had no role in developing the car ahead of the season start. Now, with the 2026 regulations right around the corner, Hamilton has worked on the car and is looking confident because of his DNA being embedded into the car.

Recently, Lewis Hamilton received a massive overhaul in his entourage at Ferrari, with his race engineer being changed primarily. Lewis Hamilton pointed out that he had started on the right foot and was now changing multiple aspects of the team. Moreover, the new generation of cars was an exciting time for him, especially because of the new regulations. Despite concerning opinions on the upcoming regulations, Hamilton is confident that the team will figure it out as they go.

I generally feel personally in the best place I’ve been in a long time, with rearranging things with the team, and we’ve started off quite well so far, and it is an exciting time with this new generation of car, because it is all brand-new. We’re all trying to figure it out on the go, and last year, we were locked into a car I ultimately inherited.

Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by RacingNews365.

Hamilton is excited to go racing in the 2026 season, as he has taken part in developing the car on the simulator for the last ten months. As such, he felt that he had his DNA within the car and felt more connected to it. Further, the seven-time champion reiterated his 100% faith in Ferrari and their capabilities to achieve success in the coming season.

This is a car I’ve been able to be a part of developing on the simulator for the last 8-10 months, and so l feel like a bit of my DNA is within it, so I’m more connected. My belief in the team is still absolutely 100% faith of what they’re capable of, and that’s why I joined the team.
