Formula 1 is a massive sport with hundreds of thousands of fans attending every race weekend. However, the British GP organizers have been struggling to sell tickets for this season’s race at Silverstone. Now, Lewis Hamilton has expressed his opinion for the lack of ticket sales for the iconic British circuit.

The British GP organizers had claimed that Max Verstappen‘s dominance was the root cause for the lack of sales. However, Lewis Hamilton claimed that the organizers should be careful with the ticket prices, which have become very expensive in recent years.

We have to watch ticket prices. It’s hugely expensive and it’s too high.

Hamilton reckoned that Formula 1 wouldn’t be happy to hear such comments from him in this regard. However, the Briton mentioned that he was simply sharing the perspective of fans and families who might not be able to afford expensive tickets. A general admission ticket for the Silverstone race this year costs upwards of $500.

The sport won’t like that I’m saying that, but I’m just thinking from the perspective of the fans and their families.

Mercedes looking forward to Spanish GP after positive Montreal weekend

Mercedes seemed to have its strongest weekend of the season at the Canadian GP. George Russell took pole position and finished on the podium. Although, Lewis Hamilton remained unsatisfied with his performance over the course of the weekend.

George Russell claimed that the Silver Arrows alongside McLaren and Ferrari had made gains against Max Verstappen and Red Bull. Although, the 26-year-old admitted that Verstappen and Red Bull were struggling with kerbs on the previous tracks. As such, the Spanish GP would be a more accurate representation of the pecking order.

I think, ourselves, McLaren and Ferrari have made some big strides towards Red Bull this season. But we also know that they had challenging races in the bumpy tracks.
George Russell stated

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell would be hoping for a good weekend in Barcelona. The Silver Arrows would be looking to carry on the momentum from Montreal and potentially fight for victory once again. However, it remains to be seen where Mercedes stands against the rest of the competition this weekend.
