Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton made a hilarious gesture on the podium in Barcelona after securing P3 in the Spanish Grand Prix. Hamilton gestured for an Aramco official to present the constructors’ trophy to Red Bull instead of him, in a hilarious move by the 39-year-old.

The Spanish Grand Prix witnessed exciting battles and fast-paced laps, which made every penny count for the massive attendance around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya racing circuit. Max Verstappen won the race spectacularly to make it two wins in a row as he extended his lead at the top of the championship.

A hilarious moment was captured on camera during the award ceremony in Barcelona, in which the vice president of public affairs of Aramco mistakenly went on to present the constructors trophy to Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion then gestured for the official to present the trophy to the Red Bull representative present on the podium, the incident was caught by the cameras in a humorous moment by the Brit.

Lewis Hamilton put in a tireless performance during the 66-lap Barcelona race to score his first podium of the season which put a smile on the face of the veteran British driver. Hamilton’s podium marks the second consecutive race in which Mercedes scored a podium as the team continues to show signs of improvement race upon race.

But the Silver Arrows experimented and perfected their upgrades after their run at Imola and are now one of the most competitive teams on the grid along with the likes of Red Bull and McLaren.

The Brackley-based team will be pleased with their performance this weekend after a difficult start to the season. The upcoming races in Austria and Silverstone will test the team further as they look to continue their form in F1.
