Lewis Hamilton affirms he and George Russell do not have ‘silly’ battles after Mexican GP duel

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell showcased great and safe racing action amongst one another at the Mexican GP. The Silver Arrows put forth a long-fought battle for the fourth spot as Hamilton finally emerged victorious. However, both drivers raced fairly and gave enough space to not collide with one another. Hence, the seven-time world champion shed light on the battle between the two and praised Russell.
Speaking upon the battle showcased at the Mexican GP, Lewis Hamilton reckoned that the team allowed them to fight on track as neither of them was silly. Hamilton applauded George Russell for being smart and fighting fair on track. Moreover, the Briton believed that the 26-year-old placed his car well on the track while battling it out.
Hamilton was content with finishing in P4 at the Mexican GP after a great battle with Russell. Both the Silver Arrows did not put either of themselves in danger by risky maneuvers on track. The fair fight between the two drivers enabled them to score a P4 and P5 finish and amass great points over the race weekend.
George Russell asserted ‘always good’ to battle with Lewis Hamilton on track
Mercedes’s recent upturn in performance has enabled the team to score much better results towards the end of the season. Moreover, a great battle on track for both the Silver Arrows is enjoyable for the fans and the drivers alike. Hence, George Russell reckoned that it was nice to battle with Lewis Hamilton on track. The reason for this was that Hamilton always fought hard and fair on track without any mischief.
Hamilton is preparing to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari for the final few years of his career in Formula 1. Mercedes has already planned a mega farewell for the seven-time world champion by the end of this season. George Russell will definitely miss having the 39-year-old as his teammate after working together for over two years.
