As the 2024 Formula 1 season approaches its halfway mark, only half of the season remains. Next season will see a major change as Lewis Hamilton will transition from his successful tenure at Mercedes to join Ferrari. The Briton is set to replace Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz to partner up with Charles Leclerc in the Reds. As his departure is nearing he talked about the final half of the season with Silver arrows.

Lewis Hamilton in a recent interview said that he couldn’t be prouder of the people he worked with at Mercedes. He shared his deep appreciation for his team members and Mercedes, highlighting how grateful he was for their support throughout his career. Hamilton expressed that his time with Mercedes had been incredibly meaningful and that he valued the dedication and hard work of everyone involved. He felt fortunate to have been part of such a great team and was grateful for the achievements they have reached together. The Briton had not left the team, but he also didn’t wanted to miss the opportunity of racing for Ferrari as he’s nearing to his retirement.

I couldn’t be more proud of the people that I work with in this team, and I couldn’t be more grateful to them and to Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton expressed that Mercedes completely changed his life. He stated that the silver arrows were supporting him since he was 13, which was a crucial time in his early career. As he grew older, they gave him an opportunity to drive for them in F1. This decision of Mercedes was the best in the history of Formula 1, because the success Lewis Hamilton brought by joining the team was not achieved by anyone else before. Hamilton stated over the years, the team had put unwavering trust and belief in his abilities.

Lewis Hamilton expressed excitement for the final phase of his Mercedes journey

Lewis Hamilton mentioned that Mercedes had shown complete faith in him throughout the years. This strong support has allowed them to gradually work together to improve and to achieve what they have done. He stated that their goal had been to rebuild their performance so they can start fighting for race wins before his departure. Hamilton appreciated how Mercedes supported throughout his career and helped him achieve what he had.
