Modern Olympics got a revival in 1896 when the first edition took place in Athens, Greece. Ever since then, the sporting event has witnessed more and more countries taking part in the Olympic Games and gave athletes a sense of pride for representing their nation on the global stage.

Lewis Hamilton had to abandon his Spa-spec upgrades

Apart from this, the Brit has been flying his nation’s flag with pride in the F1 sphere. The seven-time world champion won his ninth home race a few weekends ago. This helped him get on his front foot and aim to make progress in the Belgian GP weekend.

Mercedes was anticipated to bring upgrades around the 7-kilometer track. However, the team had to abandon the upgrades as the new package was not working as expected during the practice sessions.

Yesterday was not so good. We have tried a few new things that are very difficult to analyze, whether it was positive or not. We took some of the car down again for today, also because we knew it was raining. Difficult to say where we stand with the pace. Now we are sticking to a pre-spa spec in terms of the suspensions and the underbody to establish a baseline.

Mercedes supremo Toto Wolff elaborated on the decision to abandon the upgrades as he revealed that the new package was difficult to analyze. This intrigued the team to strip down the car on Friday and bolt on the pre-Belgium package on cars for the British duo.

Despite the team having to cast aside the new parts, the German marque is on a roll. The Silver Arrows have stood atop the podium multiple times this season and are anticipated to be in the mix for P3 on race day.
