The 2024 Monaco Grand Prix turned out to be a huge snooze fest for fans all over the globe. Apart from the lap 1 incident, there was nothing noteworthy during the race and this has been acknowledged by the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton.

During the 78-lap event, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc led from the start till the end of the race. Moreover, there was no change of positions pretty much through the grid and because of this, the event was criticized by a large chunk of fans.

Lewis Hamilton even deemed the event as one of the dullest races he’s ever been a part of.

I think because of the crash, everyone switched over to the other tyre and just managed at a really slow pace. Definitely one of the dullest of races I think I’ve been in, but that’s Monaco for you.

Looking at the reaction of the 39-year-old, it is quite clear that he was extremely bored going around the 3.3 km track during the 78-lap event. Moreover, Hamilton was not the only one who felt the race was boring, the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen also deemed the event a snooze fest.

Lewis Hamilton ‘not excited’ about racing at the Canadian GP

Hamilton managed a disappointing seventh-place finish in the Monaco GP and was not able to make much of an impression for varied reasons. While the event is done and dusted, he does not have a very optimistic outlook toward the Canadian GP as well.

He feels there is not much to be excited about ahead of the event at the famous Gille-Villeneuve racing circuit.

I’m excited to go to Canada! I wouldn’t say I’m excited about the prospects of particularly racing there. I don’t see it being a lot different. I’ll go there and as always I’m gonna give my absolute everything but, uhm yea… as I said it’s good to see the team bringing performance.

One of the main reasons behind such a response could be the lackluster performance output of the W15. In comparison to the lights of McLaren, Ferrari, and, Red Bull, the Brackley-based team is nowhere. After the recent Monaco event, the outfit is still in fourth place with 96 points in the championship but has further fallen behind the McLaren F1 team (184).
