Lewis Hamilton is the first and only black driver ever in the history of F1. The Briton has always tried to make the sport more inclusive of all genders and races. Hence, as Hamilton would join Ferrari in 2025, it was rumored that the seven-time world champion would push for a black livery on the Italian outfit’s chassis.

Lewis Hamilton has provided more clarity over these claims since then. The 39-year-old last drove an all-black car during the delayed 2020 season with the Mercedes W11. Hamilton reckoned he hadn’t driven an all-black chassis in a long time in F1.

Hence, the Briton probably wouldn’t be spotted driving a black livery Ferrari challenger for the 2025 season after deeming his shocking switch to Maranello.

I haven’t driven a black car for a while, so I probably won’t be pushing for that too early on, but no.
Lewis Hamilton said at the Canadian GP

Regardless, the Mercedes star clearly mentioned that he would push for impactful work at Maranello as he had already discussed it all with John Elkann. Hamilton will team up with Ferrari for Mission 44 for added philanthropic work at the pinnacle of motorsport. The 39-year-old won’t back down on his goals and ambitions of providing underprivileged people with equal opportunities.

We’ve definitely spoken about impact work and John and the team have a lot of philanthropy work that they do, so we’ll be working very closely with Mission 44 and with the impact stuff that they’re doing.
Lewis Hamilton added.

Lewis Hamilton claims F1 will need to ‘do more’ in terms of inclusivity

F1 has definitely started considering the addition of more racially different groups and genders. However, Lewis Hamilton feels differently about the whole situation. The sport still has a long way to go to reach a higher level of inclusivity.

Lewis Hamilton highlighted that the sport needed to continue to do more. Additionally, outside the sport as well, the teams and drivers will aim to improve over such matters. As a result, the entire matter was completely ‘exciting’ for the 39-year-old as he looks forward to providing extended hours for such issues.

I think within the sport, we have to continue to do more, but more outside we’ll be doing quite a bit together, so that’s really exciting.

Lewis Hamilton noted.

F1 has also improved over women’s involvement with the F1 academy led by Susie Wolff. The sport continues to reach new heights by improving on these matters. Hence, the coming seasons would be extremely exciting not only for Hamilton but for the sport as a whole.
