Mercedes has put forth a rollercoaster of performance in the 2024 season, especially with Lewis Hamilton. Despite scoring two highly coveted race wins this season, Hamilton is extremely dissatisfied with the team’s pace. As a result, the 39-year-old is already looking forward to the impending move to Ferrari in the coming season. Moreover, the Briton lifted the curtains on his cryptic message towards the end of the Brazilian GP.

Lewis Hamilton‘s performance at the Brazilian GP was nothing short of a disaster. The Briton initially was eliminated from the Q1 qualifying session and could only achieve a P10 finish. As a result, Hamilton said at the end of the race that it was a shame to have the last race with the team in such a manner. The 39-year-old now revealed that he didn’t want to come back racing with Mercedes after the Brazilian weekend.

I mean, in the moment that’s how I felt, like I didn’t really want to come back after that weekend.

Hamilton believed that such thoughts after a woeful session were ‘natural’ and frustrating. As a result, the 39-year-old decided that he would work harder to never suffer from such a seasonal performance ever again. Ultimately, the Mercedes star declared that he is standing strong and prepared to give it his all for the final three races in the season with the team.

I think that’s only natural. It’s frustrating when you have a season like this, which I’m pretty sure I won’t have again, or at least I’ll work towards not having again. It wasn’t a great feeling in that moment, but I’m here, I’m standing strong and I’m going to give it absolutely everything for these last few races.

Lewis Hamilton claims nothing can ‘take him down’

Lewis Hamilton was surrounded by a sea of naysayers amidst the struggling 2024 season’s performance. Even Toto Wolff had a few glimpses of negativity over the 39-year-old’s performance. However, Hamilton noted that he had been the center of so much hate and micro-aggressions from people that he was used to it. Additionally, the Ferrari-bound driver cleared that his boss wasn’t the one majorly commenting on his form. Hence, the seven-time world champion claimed that nothing could take him down.

I’ve been around this game for a long time. There’s been so many things that are said about me, there’s been so many micro-aggressions – obviously not from my boss because he’s been supportive over all these years and we’ve achieved a lot together – but I mean in general, within the media and through it all, and nothing can take me down.
