Lewis Hamilton is now a Scuderia Ferrari driver. The seven-time world champion will race for the Prancing Horse in the upcoming season. However, the British driver downplayed high expectations after his first public appearance at F1 75.
Hamilton has previously asserted that he wants to bring glory back to Maranello, rather than simply aiming for his eighth world title. The F1 star drove the Ferrari SF-25 during the shakedown at Fiorano and admitted that the car was far different than what he was used to.
Despite his target of winning the championship, Lewis Hamilton recognized that things might not be easy. The Briton pointed out that many times big teams sign a top driver, but the union fails to bring the desired results. Ferrari is no stranger to such scenarios with Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel leaving Maranello without winning a single title.
You’ve seen in the history of the sport where you’ve got great teams and things don’t align and they end up, some of them not winning World Championships.

Lewis Hamilton applauds Ferrari’s winning ‘DNA’
Scuderia Ferrari is the biggest name in the world of motorsport. Maranello is the most successful team in Formula 1 history. As such, Lewis Hamilton emphasized that the Italian team had the ‘winning mentality’ in its DNA. Moreover, the Briton pointed out that the Scuderia has an ‘insane’ legacy since the first season of the sport.

This team already has an insane legacy and they’re not short of how many World Championships they’ve won. So I think, in their DNA, they have that winning mentality.
Lewis Hamilton added
Certainly, Lewis Hamilton recognizes that things will not be so easy this year. The 40-year-old will push himself to the limit in hopes of fighting for the world title. However, a lot will depend on how the SF-25 fares against the likes of McLaren and Red Bull on-track. The Tifosi might need to wait till the start of the season before jumping to any conclusions.
