Lewis Hamilton shocked the sporting world after deeming a shocking switch to Ferrari for the 2025 season. The Briton is now set to race for the Scuderia this coming season, ditching Mercedes after 12 years. Now, Hamilton reflected on his initial shock after signing a contract with the Italian constructor.

Lewis Hamilton suffered from a streak of woeful performances in recent years due to Mercedes’ mediocre pace. The German carmaker couldn’t produce a championship-winning challenger in the ground-effect era. Hamilton still secured a two-year deal with Brackley before jumping ship to the Italian constructor.

The 40-year-old had recently revealed that he was utterly dumbfounded after finalizing his contract on the call. Hamilton added that his recently signed deal with Mercedes came to his mind after finishing talks with Ferrari. The Briton reflected on the time and highlighted that the situation was ‘a lot’ to take in for him as he felt very emotional that day.
