Lewis Hamilton suffered from a disappointing fate during his Ferrari debut season in 2025. Moreover, he is managing expectations leading to the 2026 season. Maranello might not be the fastest team on the grid, especially after their ambitious approach to the rear wing. Now, amid the preparations, the Jamaican bobsleigh team has urged Hamilton to consider a move to the sport at the upcoming Winter Olympics.
Since the beginning of the 2026 season, Lewis Hamilton has managed expectations and is not dreaming of a picture-perfect start to the year. Meanwhile, his friends in Jamaica are trying to convince him to consider a move to bobsleigh, which might be more similar to F1 than people imagine. The Jamaican team believes that the 41-year-old’s talent can be better used at the Olympics.
Lewis Hamilton had previously stated that he was interested in trying his hand at bobsleigh. Now, the Jamaican athlete Tyquendo Tracey firmly believes that the move is definitely possible. Sky Sports reporter Geraint Hughes revealed how Tracey is a big Lewis Hamilton fan and believes that the latter could be a brilliant driver in bobsleigh. He continued how the drivers were also called pilots in bobsleigh as they navigated the turns on the ice.
Tracey is a huge F1 fan — a huge fan of Lewis Hamilton. And even though Lewis is getting on in age, 41 years, he still believes Hamilton would be quick enough at the start and could be a brilliant driver. Actually, in bobsleigh they’re called a pilot, as you pilot the sled down all the twists and turns on the ice.
Geraint Hughes said via Sky Sports.
The reporter continued that Lewis Hamilton would easily excel in bobsleigh because of his experience in F1. As such, the Jamaican and Olympic fans would love to have Hamilton consider a switch to bobsleigh in the near future. If the seven-time champion does not find satisfaction in Formula 1, he might consider a switch. However, he certainly has no such plans for the foreseeable future.
Lewis Hamilton — that’s chicken feed. He’s used to double that and more. So Jamaica are fans of Lewis Hamilton and would like him to consider switching to the Winter Olympics after his F1 career and coming over to bobsleigh.
Geraint Hughes added.
Lewis Hamilton opens up on the ‘imperfect day’ of pre-season testing for Ferrari
Ferrari came with an extremely ambitious rear wing for the second set of pre-season testing in Bahrain. The entire rear wing would be lifted up and twisted the other way, while Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc utilized the overtaking mode. However, the second day of testing was far from ideal as the team couldn’t log in many laps and Hamilton only finished five laps.

Lewis Hamilton accepted that the second day was not a perfect day for Ferrari. He continued that the team was unable to complete everything they had planned. Regardless, the day remained a great testament to the team’s hard work, and getting the car back on track was a massive feat. Hamilton concluded that he was delighted to have finished whatever laps he could and looked forward to the season opener.
It was not a perfect day for the team, as we weren’t able to complete everything we had planned, that said, it was a great testament to everyone’s hard work, doing a fantastic job fixing the car and getting me back out on track. I’m really grateful for the laps we were able to complete, and the data we gathered will be important as we continue to prepare for the season.
Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by RacingNews365.
