Lewis Hamilton is the biggest talking point in the Formula 1 paddock this year. The seven-time world champion embarked on a new journey with Ferrari this year after spending over a decade at Mercedes. However, things were off to a rough start with critics slamming Hamilton’s debut in Australia. Now, the F1 star has responded with a dominant Sprint win in Shanghai.

The British driver faced criticism over his disappointing first race with the Scuderia at the Australian GP last weekend, when a botched race strategy forced him down the order. Moreover, his age was also bring brought up as a concern. Nevertheless, Lewis Hamilton has silenced critics after his Sprint win at the Chinese GP.

After the race, the seven-time world champion emphasized on the importance of not listening to such comments. Lewis Hamilton urged his team to not pay attention to headlines or get distracted by such reports. Hamilton made it clear that he and his crew will simply keep their heads down and focus on pushing themselves over the course of the season.

Hamilton took a shock pole position for the sprint race on Friday, narrowly defeating arch-rival Max Verstappen. However, the race was much easier for the Briton as he went on to win from pole without losing the lead for even a single lap.

Lewis Hamilton insisted that winning at the pinnacle of motorsport was a completely different feeling when a driver starts from the lead in a Ferrari. Moreover, the 40-year-old asserted that he loves to visit the Shanghai International Circuit, a track that sees passionate crowds rallying behind the seven-time world champion every year.

Nevertheless, Hamilton made it clear that he was going to remain realistic for the remainder of the weekend. The Briton mentioned that Ferrari still needs to ensure that the car can improve before the start of Qualifying, to be in the fight for the Grand Prix victory on Sunday.

I can’t get ahead of myself, gotta make sure we improve the car for this afternoon and hope we can be in a good position to fight tomorrow.
