Lewis Hamilton dedicated his British GP win to his engineer Peter ‘Bono’ Bonnington. Bono has been with Hamilton for almost a decade. The seven-time world champion said on stage after the race that they are partners in crime. This is because of the achievements they’ve achieved over the years.
Peter Bonnington during a media interaction mentioned he and Lewis Hamilton have been working together for a very long time putting in a lot of effort to reach their goals. He said that over the years they faced many challenges but continued to push forward. For the British GP, they worked especially hard to make sure the car was in the best possible condition. By the time they reached the final stint, the car was in an excellent position, which gave Hamilton the opportunity to push hard and perform at his best. Bono was very proud of the hard work and dedication they’ve both put in to achieve such great results.
It’s been a long long time, him and I have been working hard trying to get back there. I think we put the car in a real good position for that final stint to allow him to push.Peter Bonnington said

Bonnington praised Hamilton for his skills, he mentioned the 39-year-old always does an excellent job and especially in critical moments. Bono added, when the race gets tough and it’s crucial to manage tires, Hamilton is the one who can do it the best and make sure they can reach the finish line. When the 39-year-old tells the British engineer to stop talking, Bono understands he’s fully focused and ready to give his best.
He does a great job, when it comes down to the wire he’s the one that’s gonna manage the tyres and get you to the end. As soon as I get told to shut up then I know the game is on.Peter Bonnington explained

Toto Wolff claims tire degradation won Lewis Hamilton the British GP
Toto Wolff explained the team initially doubted whether using hard tires was the right choice. Wolff, looking at the outcome, thought they should’ve used medium tires first followed by hard and then softs. The Austrian explained this sequence would have provided them with a quicker speed and better tire wear throughout the race.
We didn't believe the hard was the right tyre to go. In hindsight probably the right order of priority would be medium, hard and soft, that's what would have been the quickestToto Wolff said, as reported by autosport.com

Wolff mentioned despite their doubts about tire choice, they managed to handle the situation well towards the end. He noted that Lewis Hamilton’s tire degradation was better managed compared to the McLarens, which ultimately helped them secure the victory. This highlighted their team’s ability to adapt and optimize the strategy during the race.
But we saved it at the end, I think our tyre degradation was good compared to the McLarens and that secured the victoryToto Wolff added
Certainly, Wolff reckoned that better tire degradation was a key factor in their race victory, and Hamilton pulled it off very well with his skills and experience. Fans were delighted by the win, clearly recognizing that Mercedes has now become one of the fastest teams, despite not being initially considered as such.
