Logan Sargeant had very less hopes of scoring a contract extension beyond his rookie season in Formula 1. Regardless, WIlliams provided him with another opportunity in hopes of improving in terms of performance. However, the American driver has crashed out his chassis on multiple occasions and started the 2024 season off in a disappointing manner. Hence, ex-F1 driver and Indy500 winner Marcus Ericsson commented on the entire situation as Sargeant sternly responded to the former.
Marcus Ericsson had previously commented on Logan Sargeant‘s ‘strained’ relationship with Williams and James Vowles. However, Sargeant made it very clear that this was not the case while demeaning Ericsson as well. The 23-year-old claimed that the Swedish driver had a reputation for talking bad about people without ever talking to them first.

Subsequently, Sargeant had to do his fair share of falsifying Marcus Ericsson’s comments about him. Hence, the American driver claimed that the rumors did not carry any ‘weight’ as they were baseless. Additionally, the 23-year-old made it very clear that all these claims from the Swede were not true.
It doesn't carry any weight. It's not true.Logan Sargeant added.

Logan Sargeant claims he doesn’t ‘plan on’ speaking with Marcus Ericsson anytime soon
Such baseless claims from Marcus Ericsson had upset Logan Sargeant. Hence, it is safe to assume that the two athletes did not share a good bond. However, one would assume that they would make up after such a heated exchange of words. Regardless, the American driver made it clear that he didn’t intend to do so.

Logan Sargeant revealed that he had never held a conversation with Ericsson and further noted that he didn’t plan on doing so either way.
I've never spoken to him in my life. I don't plan on it either way.Logan Sargeant concluded.
Despite the claims from the IndyCar driver, Logan Sargeant needs to focus on his Formula 1 performance heavily. The 23-year-old is at the bottom with zero points and has to score some points to be considered for a seat. Additionally, Sargeant must focus on his performance and prevent any incidents in the rest of the season.
