Max Verstappen achieved a historic race win at the Brazilian GP after winning the race from the P17 position. The Dutchman showcased an extremely dominant drive and put forth one of the greatest performances ever in Formula 1. Hence, amongst the sea of people applauding Verstappen, Ex-F1 driver Marc Surer praised the former as well.

Max Verstappen faced a lot of impartiality from the FIA at the Brazilian GP due to multiple on-track incidents. Verstappen was initially caught unexpectedly under a wrongly timed Virtual safety car in the Sprint race which cost him the chance to finish second. Moreover, the Dutchman could also not finish his lap under the wrongly timed red flag in the Q2 session of Qualifying.

As a result, the 27-year-old has sealed his victory in the drivers’ championship following the stellar performance. Marc Surer noted that the Dutchman showcased the drive of a ‘four-time world champion’ hinting at his victory in the 2024 season.

Marc Surer criticized Lando Norris’ ‘given win’ in the Brazilian GP Sprint race

Lando Norris showcased an extremely woeful performance in Brazil after he was unable to overtake Oscar Piastri for the Sprint win. Piastri had to cede positions and let his teammate through to give him the win. Hence, Surer criticized Norris’ performance at the event amidst the latter’s championship ambitions against Max Verstappen.

A given win in the Sprint and a pole. The rest was nothing to write home about. As a candidate for the title, you have to know the regulations.

Red Bull is still far from leading the constructors’ championship due to Sergio Perez‘s woeful performances. However, Verstappen has kept up with performances and is likely to win more races. As the season finale inches closer, the excitement for the end-of-the-season battle peaks at an all-time high.

Lando Norris still has a shot at the championship at the upcoming Las Vegas GP. If he wins the upcoming race and achieves three or more points above Verstappen, he could still have a chance. However, the 24-year-old has been able to achieve a lead of approximately 2.6 points per race which wouldn’t be enough for his championship ambitions.
