Max Verstappen‘s streak of impressive performance had continued at the Mexican GP qualifying as well. The Dutchman has continued to defy all odds and score great points over race weekends amidst Red Bull’s struggling pace. However, the 27-year-old suffered from a massive disappointment after he received two consecutive ten-second penalties due to on-track antics in the 71-lap race.

Max Verstappen has freshly moved on from the late-drama at the US GP involving Lando Norris. Verstappen had great hopes for an impressive result at the Mexican weekend. The 27-year-old was involved in a similar drama with Norris wherein the former forced the Briton way too strictly off the track.

As a result, Verstappen faced a 20s penalty with which he was extremely unhappy. He took to the team radio and took a dig at the unwarranted penalty. The Dutchman struck a sarcastic remark and called the penalty quite impressive. Regardless, the championship leader’s points will take a massive hit after such a major penalty.

In a recent tweet on X, multiple fans berated the desperate move from Max Verstappen against Lando Norris. One fan joked that the Dutchman was simply trying to provide some entertainment to the fans. Meanwhile, another fan believed that the 27-year-old should be sent to jail for ‘attempting murder’ on the Briton.

Another fan believed that despite being a Verstappen fan, they couldn’t condone such actions on track. Additionally, a fan added that such risky moves were pure ‘insanity’ from Verstappen’s end. Others labeled the reigning world champion as the ‘dirtiest driver on track’ following the incident and the penalty.

Certainly, Verstappen continues to be desperate to defend against the in-form Norris on track. A big 20s penalty means that the Dutchman will be unable to score any impressive results in his outing in Mexico. Regardless, the three-time world champion will continue to work hard on his form for the four remaining races.
