Max Verstappen confesses ’50/50′ chance of defeating Lando Norris for 2024 title

Max Verstappen has found himself in a tough spot to win the 2024 F1 world championship. The Dutch driver has been consistently losing points to McLaren’s Lando Norris. So much so, that the reigning world champion has admitted that he could lose the title.
Verstappen was asked about his prospects to win a fourth consecutive championship. The 27-year-old admitted that things were going to be ’50/50.’ Max Verstappen highlighted things could go right or wrong in the last six races which also include three Sprint weekends. Presently, Norris trails behind the Red Bull driver by 52 points.
Moreover, the Dutchman pointed out that there was simply no guarantee in Formula 1. However, Max Verstappen insisted that he tries not to think about such situations. Rather, the three-time world champion simply focuses on a race-to-race basis.
Max Verstappen not ‘wasting’ energy over title fight thoughts
Verstappen asserted that he would either win the title or he won’t. The Red Bull star claimed that he did not want to have unnecessary thoughts in his head by wasting energy over the entire scenario. The 27-year-old even mentioned that he was already thinking a lot about racing.
Certainly, Max Verstappen has made it clear that he will simply concentrate on one race at a time. The three-time world champion will be looking win the US GP this weekend and put pressure on Lando Norris. However, it remains to be seen how things pan out for the 27-year-old in Austin.
