Max Verstappen has achieved a stellar turnaround in performance in the final stages of the 2025 season. The Dutchman is currently on a hot two-race win streak and can keep up with the winning pace at the Singapore GP as well.

Verstappen came in the weekend with a decent pace, after topping the FP3 session right before the Qualifying. Now the 27-year-old achieved a front-row start for the race and took a hilarious dig at Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

The Marina Bay Circuit of the Singapore GP is notoriously known to be one of the hardest circuits in the current racing calendar. Max Verstappen is yet to achieve a race win on Singaporean soil as he hopes for the 2025 season to turn out better for him. However, during the final stages of the Q3 session, Verstappen believed that he was impeded by Lando Norris, something that cost him the pole position against George Russell.

On the contrary, Oscar Piastri could only manage a P3 start for the race on Sunday, as he wasn’t the one who meddled in the way of Max Verstappen fighting for the pole position start. As such, during an interview right after the session, Verstappen was questioned regarding his thoughts on a failed shot at pole position.

Max Verstappen reckoned that the battle for pole position could have been even closer, and in his favor if it weren’t for a car cruising in front of him. The Dutchman joked that there was a McLaren challenger, which definitely did not belong to Oscar Piastri, as he wasn’t the one impeding. As such, Verstappen took an indirect jibe at Lando Norris for coming in the way of the former fighting for a P1 start for the Singapore GP.

It could have been close for pole – but it is hard when there is a car just cruising two seconds in front. It has been noted. Not Oscar.

Max Verstappen labels Singapore GP outing ‘solid’ so far

Max Verstappen headed into the Singapore GP with minimal hopes of an impressive weekend and a shot at the race win. The Dutchman has come close to achieving a coveted race win at the Marina Bay Circuit, but he has been unable to win one yet. Now, with Red Bull’s apparent turnaround in performance, Verstappen is overtly delighted with the positive situations so far.

Speaking on a P2 start for the main event on Sunday, Max Verstappen asserted that the weekend so far had been a solid one. The Dutchman was rather satisfied after facing no major troubles in results. Verstappen continued that Milton Keynes was always kind of available for a resurgence in performance, and the positive outing in Singapore further proved this point.

So far this weekend has been a solid one, no major trouble. We were always kind of there.

Max Verstappen said in a post-session conference.

Red Bull has yet to fix the second driver problem with Yuki Tsunoda, as he has failed to make it into Q3 yet again. The team has a serious shot at fighting for the P3 spot in the constructors’ standings if not the runner-up spot. As such, Max Verstappen and Co. must put forth the best results possible in the final seven races and salvage any and all points possible this season.
