The 2024 F1 season has proved a bit bittersweet to the now four-time world champion Max Verstappen. He amassed his fourth title last week at the Las Vegas event, but his team is not doing great on the constructors’ front.

With only two rounds remaining, Red Bull is currently in third place in the standings with only 555 points in comparison to Ferrari’s 584 and McLaren’s 608. In light of this, he was recently asked a question in Qatar, and to the surprise of many, the Dutchman came up with a blatant response.

I’m done with that too. I don’t care if it will be McLaren or Ferrari. It’s not us in any case, that’s quite clear.

Looking at the reaction of the 27-year-old driver, it is quite clear that he just does not care about the constructors’ bout with Red Bull being out of it. One of the main reasons behind the Milton-Keynes-based team’s sorry state in the standings is because of its second driver, Sergio Perez.

Max Verstappen jokes about ‘walking like a bat’ amidst ongoing triple-header

While Max Verstappen has lost interest in the 2024 constructors’ championship, he has not lost his funny side. In his unique fun manner, he talked about the ongoing night race triple-header at the pinnacle of motor racing.

Las Vegas, the ongoing Qatar event, and next week’s Abu Dhabi race are all being run in the night-race format.

Well, with Vegas and now (Qatar) I’m kind of living in the dark all the time. It’s a bit, I wouldn’t say depressing, but I do need a bit of sunlight. I walk in the dark like a bat all the time.

Including the upcoming Qatar GP, the 2024 season has only two races remaining on the calendar. From Red Bull’s perspective, the remaining events will only be about trying their best to win and close the season on a high.

Verstappen has once again done what he does best behind the wheel of an F1 car, whereas his teammate has disappointed the Red Bull team. With quite a few young guns eyeing out the 2025 Red Bull drive, next week’s Abu Dhabi GP could prove to be Perez’s last race. The lights of Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda are in with a strong shot to be Verstappen’s teammate for next year.
