Max Verstappen has a perceived history of facing British bias in F1. This feeling often stems from the historical dominance of British teams and drivers in the sport. Verstappen’s aggressive driving style and intense rivalry with Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton further fueled these tensions.
However, after the recent incident involving Norris, the Dutchman took shots at the British media and stewards for always being unfair to him. Recent clashes between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris have sparked debate about biases in F1.
After several incidents where Verstappen received penalties for aggressive driving, questions arose about the consistency of stewarding decisions and favoritism toward Norris The 27-year-old believes Norris gets better treatment because he’s British and mostly the stewards stem from the same country.
In 2023 Max Verstappen dominated the season, leaving no room for any British bias to criticize his driving. His record-breaking 19 wins silenced his critics that year. While the Red Bull car was the fastest, Verstappen’s talent made winning look even easier.
Max Verstappen claims Johnny Herbert’s statement was ‘heavy accusations’ on him
F1 steward Johnny Herbert publicly criticized Max Verstappen’s driving style and mentality recently. The former F1 driver accused Verstappen of intentionally pushing Lando Norris off the track and behaving unsportsmanlike.
The Dutchman found Herbert’s accusations to be serious and strange. He stated that many people assume to know what he’s thinking and added that Herbert shouldn’t make such comments as a steward since his role requires impartiality.
Man Verstappen has asserted he would not change his driving style and will continue to do whatever it takes to defend his F1 title against Lando Norris. The Brazilian GP on Sunday could see the latest chapter of the intense rivalry between the two drivers.
