Max Verstappen has been competing in F1 since the start of the 2014 season. He has got better and better with the passage of time and today, is considered one of the best to ever step foot into the sport.
The ongoing season is at a halt and amidst this, Max Verstappen has given an in-detail interview. In the same, he has shed light on the shocking feeling he had when he jumped into an F1 car for the very first time.

Verstappen’s first taste of F1 machinery came in the first practice session of the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix.
When you jump back in the F1 car, you know that it’s going to be quick, the acceleration and everything. You’re kind of prepared for it. But I remember, of course, the very first time that I jumped in an F1 car, it was almost like I couldn’t keep up with the speed. It’s non-stop in an F1 car initially, and then your body gets used to it more and more. But in the beginning, it was quite a shock.

Looking at the reaction of the three-time world champion, it is quite clear that the drivers have a surreal experience when they jump into an F1 car for the first time. However, he has emphasized that the feeling becomes normal as a driver keeps on driving the machinery.
FIA ‘made a big story’ out of Max Verstappen’s swearing antics
While Max Verstappen has shed light on his feelings about driving an F1 car for the very first time, he has been in the headlines more for negative reasons recently. The Singapore swearing saga is still a hot topic in the F1-verse.

The Ex-Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has bashed the FIA for their handling of the Verstappen swearing saga.
Max didn’t swear at anybody. He used the F-word about his car. So nobody got offended by it, in my opinion. The best way [to handle it] would have been not to make a big story of it. Sit down with the drivers, they have a meeting every weekend, and say: Hey, guys, can you tone it down a little bit? We are the FIA, we don’t really like this.

The Singapore swearing saga could be one of the main topics that could be discussed during next week’s US GP weekend. However, the best thing for both the FIA and Verstappen would be to bury the controversial topic for good and just move on.
Max Verstappen has the looming threat of Lando Norris to deal with during the ongoing 2024 F1 season. The last thing Verstappen would want going into the last six races is the incessant talk around the swearing saga. Norris is only 52 points behind Verstappen with a faster challenger.
