The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the biggest racing events in the motorsport calendar. The historic race tests drivers and cars to the limit. Max Verstappen has often expressed his interest in competing at Le Mans in the future. Now, the three-time world champion joked about getting an advantage by bringing Yuki Tsunoda as his teammate.

Verstappen claimed that he would appreciate having Yuki Tsunoda as his teammate when he would compete in this iconic race. The Dutch driver joked that the Japanese driver would be flying in a Hypercar due to his less weight. Certainly, Max Verstappen and Tsunoda could perform a rather strong driver lineup for such a race. Although, the pair would need another driver to complete their lineup.

Max Verstappen had previously mentioned that driver weight was one major aspect that was preventing him from competing in Le Mans. Although, recently, the three-time world champion revealed that he was not a fan of the Balance of Performance done to ensure that all cars remain competitive during a race.

Max Verstappen has dominated Formula 1 in the ground-effect era since 2022. The three-time world champion shattered several records last season. However, Verstappen has lost three races so far this season. As rivals catchup with Milton Keynes in terms of performance due to inevitable convergence on the grid.

Ex-W series driver, Naomi Schiff claimed that each race was going to be crucial for Verstappen and his rivals. Schiff highlighted that three teams seem to be in the battle for the world championship this season. With Ferrari and McLaren giving tough competition to Max Verstappen and Red Bull. The 30-year-old reckoned that the Spanish GP could give a clear picture of the pecking order.

Every single race is going to make the difference now because they are three teams relatively entered with a chance to fight for this title. Barcelona should be the race that shows us who’s in it and who’s not. So let’s just hold that thought for now.
