Max Verstappen faced a challenging campaign in 2024. The Dutch driver had to go up against fierce competition from Lando Norris and McLaren. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old reckoned that he remained in control as he bagged his fourth title in a row.
The reigning world champion was involved in a handful of incidents last season, particularly with Lando Norris. So much so, that their friendship seemed to be at stake. Though, Verstappen had reaffirmed that he wouldn’t change the way he drives even after a fallout at the Mexican GP.
Max Verstappen confessed that there were some questionable moments on-track. However, the Red Bull star made it clear that he was in full control of the situation. The Dutch driver declared that he knew exactly what he was executing as he tried to push himself for victory.
There have been tough races, questionable moves and moments, but I know what I’m doing, I’m in full control of what I’m doing. I’m in full control of what I’m executing on the track. Sometimes you need to do everything you can to win.

Max Verstappen simply ‘hates’ losing
The four-time world champion declared that he hates losing in Formula 1. Although, the 27-year-old insisted that he was ready to recognize someone who does a better job on a given day. Yet, Max Verstappen emphasized that it is never nice to lose even during such a situation.

I hate losing. I can recognize when someone does a better job, but it’s still not nice to lose.
Max Verstappen added
The Red Bull star will now be shifting focus on the 2025 season. Max Verstappen aims to claim a consecutive fifth world title this year. However, it would not be smooth sailing for Milton Keynes. As the likes of McLaren and Ferrari will be challenging Verstappen over the course of the year.
