Red Bull Racing faced a big setback last year when Adrian Newey announced his exit from Milton Keynes. The absence of the aero genius was believed to have a big impact on the team’s future. Now, Max Verstappen has reiterated his faith in Milton Keynes, even without Newey.

Adrian Newey joins Aston Martin this year. Red Bull Motorsport Consultant, Dr. Helmut Marko reckoned that Newey’s switch to Silverstone might entice Verstappen. While, the aero-genius had recently slammed the inexperience of the engineers at Milton Keynes.

Max Verstappen emphasized that he had complete trust in Red Bull’s technical team. He highlighted that success in Formula 1 can only happen when the team works together. The Dutchman asserted that he had immense respect for Newey for his work for Red Bull. As such, the 27-year-old looked forward to seeing the aero genius’ contribution to Aston Martin.

I trust also the people who are there at the moment. We have to do it all together. It is a team effort but I have a lot of respect for what Adrian has done for the team, have a great relationship with Adrian and I am excited for him to start a new project.

Max Verstappen has no targets for 2025

Verstappen faced a difficult 2024 season where he was on the verge of losing the title to Lando Norris. Nevertheless he managed to recover and win the championship with a couple of races to spare. Now, Max Verstappen has insisted that currently he has no targets for the upcoming season. As Red Bull cannot really predict it’s place in the pecking order till the first round in Melbourne.

At the moment I don’t have targets for the season as we don’t know how competitive we are.

Max Verstappen added

The four-time world champion might’ve downplayed expectations for now. Yet, it is certain that Max Verstappen will not be happy to settle for less this year. The Dutchman driver wants to come back stronger after a challenging 2024 and get back to dominating the grid once again.
