Max Verstappen is now a four-time Formula 1 world champion. The Dutch driver finally won the 2024 title at the Las Vegas GP after finishing fifth in the race. Now, the Red Bull star has once again shown that he is potentially the GOAT (Greatest of All Time).

The four-time world champion had a challenging campaign this season. McLaren’s Lando Norris had made major gains against Verstappen in the second half of the year. Despite facing a few setbacks, the Dutch driver did not get bogged down and cruised himself to title victory at Las Vegas.

Max Verstappen even had a winless streak of a couple of months which could have been detrimental to his title prospects. Nevertheless, the way the 27-year-old handled the campaign was simply incredible. As such, it seems that Verstappen might be deserving to be labeled as one of the greatest in the history of the sport.

Max Verstappen is the talent of the generation

Ever since making his F1 debut in 2015, Max Verstappen showcased that he was unlike any other driver on the grid. The Dutchman’s hunger to win was visible and his pace was impressive. The four-time world champion proved his mettle at Red Bull over the years. However, it was the 2021 title fight that highlighted Verstappen’s capability of being in a title fight.

The Dutch driver managed pressure well as he went on to defeat Lewis Hamilton for the title. Following this triumph, Verstappen had it easy for the past two seasons. Yet, 2024 proved to be a big test for the 27-year-old as he had to work hard at every single race. Each point mattered and Max Verstappen was aware he could not have a single bad result.

The four-time world champion had a few on-track incidents with Lando Norris. However, it was Verstappen who handled the situation better than the Briton which gave him a psychological edge. As such, even when Red Bull had a bad car, Max Verstappen remained a threat to the faster McLarens.

Ultimately, the 27-year-old had what it takes to outdrive the car whenever necessary. Max Verstappen showed that he is in the same league as all-time greats such as Michael Schumacher and Alain Prost. Moreover, the Dutchman still has many more years to further solidify his claim on the GOAT status in Formula 1.
