Red Bull Racing driver, Max Verstappen made a hilarious comment toward Lewis Hamilton in the Spanish GP press room after the veteran driver appeared to be taking a nap. Hamilton is currently one of the oldest drivers on the grid and scored his first podium of the season in Barcelona.
Max Verstappen earned a hard-fought victory in the recently concluded race after fending off rivals McLaren and Mercedes. Verstappen has now won seven races out of a possible ten and is eyeing a fourth consecutive championship.

On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton has not had a good start to the season but will be pleased after his efforts in Barcelona. Hamilton and Verstappen have been rivals in the past, but they shared a light-headed moment before the post-race press conference in Barcelona.

Lewis Hamilton shares thoughts after strong performance in Barcelona
Lewis Hamilton has praised Mercedes for the strong uplift in performances off late, which helped the 39-year-old score his first podium of 2024. Mercedes finished P3 and P4 in Barcelona after a hard-fought result.

We're slowly getting closer. Last year, we were very fast here, so you have to take it with a pinch of salt, but obviously the last couple of races we've been relatively competitive. So, I think we have closed the gap a little bit, but we still have a good couple of tenths to try and find. We just have to have all hands on deck and keep pushing.Lewis Hamilton said after the Spanish Grand Prix

“Big boost to finally get a good result. It’s been a minute since I’ve been up here, in the race. Huge huge thank you to the team, who have done an amazing job, particularly everyone back at the factory.”

Hamilton exclaimed that the Silver Arrows have managed to close the gap by a little bit to Red Bull and McLaren, who are currently the top teams on the grid in terms of performance. However, the Ferrari-bound driver also pressed on the need for the team to keep pushing and improving to find a good couple of tenths in their pace to catch up to the faster teams in the paddock.
Lewis Hamilton currently stands eighth in the drivers’ championship with 70 points to his name, which is a lackluster outcome for the seven-time world championship and his brilliant standards. However, a ray of light shines in the direction of the 39-year-old as Mercedes shows continuous signs of improvement heading into the upcoming races of the season.
