Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen‘s rivalry during the 2021 Formula 1 season is one of the most iconic rivalries in the sport. The pair locked horns from the very first race in Bahrain to the last lap of the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP.
Throughout the year, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton came toe-to-toe multiple times and also had a fair share of collisions between them. But, even after all of that, Verstappen has shared that he thinks the seven-time World Champion is one of the best drivers in the history of F1.
Lewis Hamilton is statistically the most successful driver in F1 history.
Without a doubt, Lewis is up there as one of the best in history. I have no need or desire to deny it. Consistency is key, staying at its best. It’s not that hard when you’re so talented, you don’t need that much effort and the way he’s managed his World Cups is very deserving. It made a difference at the right time.

The 26-year-old revealed how Hamilton’s longevity and consistency in the sport is something he admires. Here’s hoping that the two brilliant drivers have another rivalry soon at the front end of the grid, once the Briton starts driving for Ferrari in 2025.
Max Verstappen reveals relationship with Lewis Hamilton is “pretty simple”
Verstappen and Hamilton’s rivalry back in 2021 had a lot of times when the pair seemed to be very frustrated with each other. Especially during races like Monza and Saudi Arabia, wherein the drivers collided with each other.

Following all of the incidents and how toxic the rivalry was between them, there’s always been a lot of talk about their relationship. Recently, during the same interview, the three-time World Champion shared how his relationship is with the prolific Briton.
I don’t think we have a difficult relationship at all, it’s pretty simple. It’s just that with other pilots I have a closer relationship, it all depends on the way you live your life and maybe we’re not that similar in that respect. It is clear that we will have a great rivalry in 2021, but at the end of the day, we have great respect for each other.

The Dutchman revealed how the relationship between himself and the seven-time World Champion is pretty simple and direct and doesn’t have any issues. He concluded by saying that he and the Briton have great respect for each other, on and off track. It has been two years since the two have had equal machinery underneath them and considering this, it is in the best interest of the fans and the sport that the duo once again get to lock horns with each other, ideally for a world championship.
