Max Verstappen has had an underwhelming run in Formula 1 for the past few races. The Dutch driver last won a race in June. The Brazilian GP seemed to be yet another disappointing weekend. However, the three-time world champion turned things around after an unlucky Qualifying.
In the delayed Qualifying at Interlagos, Max Verstappen was eliminated in Q2. The Dutch driver was forced to start the race from P17 due to a five-place grid drop. Verstappen revealed that he was furious when he returned to the garage after that session.
Max Verstappen claimed that he knew Red Bull would be fast after Qualifying. The reigning world champion admitted that he almost destroyed the team’s garage as he couldn’t hold back his feelings. The 27-year-old noted that he performs the best when he is driven and that was perhaps the reason for his incredible race victory.
After that quali where I knew we’d be fast, I nearly destroyed the entire garage. I was barely able to hold myself in, but I started the race very driven. I think I’m the best when I’m driven.

The Dutch driver now leads Lando Norris by 62 points. Max Verstappen will need to leave Las Vegas with a gap of 60 points or higher to win the title before the last two races. The Red Bull star asserted that he doesn’t want to take more risks and just wrap up the title at the night race in Nevada. This would be Verstappen’s fourth consecutive F1 world title.

Certainly, Max Verstappen has got some much needed confidence from the Brazilian GP. An incredible drive from the Dutchman in wet conditions reminded fans of the 2016 race at Interlagos when the Red Bull driver demonstrated his talent in the rain. Fans would expect to see the Red Bull driver carry on with this momentum into the final three rounds.
