Max Verstappen put forth an extremely consistent performance at the Italian GP and achieved a stellar race win. The Dutchman started the weekend on a high and clinched the pole position in an impressive manner. Notably, Verstappen achieved the fastest lap time ever recorded in the history of Formula 1 with an average speed of around 264 kmph (164 mph). Now, the four-time champion has also achieved a stunning victory at Ferrari’s home ground and silenced all the critics.
Heading into the Italian GP, Max Verstappen had cast doubts on his and Red Bull’s chances to succeed, as they did not bring a special rear wing for the race. However, Verstappen made all the difference on track and clinched an impressive pole position. The Dutchman had a few hiccups at the beginning of the race as he had to give the lead to Lando Norris. Still, the 27-year-old regained it with ease and left no stone unturned to bring home the race win.
Max Verstappen emerged victorious in both the Italian races after previously winning the Emilia Romagna GP and now the Italian GP. As such, the Dutchman was over the moon after trumping the dominant McLarens by a lead of over 19.2 seconds. Now, Verstappen has opened up on his delight and thoughts after clinching the fastest victory in the history of Formula 1.
Speaking on the race win, Max Verstappen insisted that it had been a great day and weekend for Red Bull in Monza. Verstappen did mention that he was a bit unlucky during the race start amid his on-track drama with Lando Norris. Regardless, the Dutchman noted that the car was enjoyable to drive out on the track and he was able to manage the pace, all while pitting at the right time. The 27-year-old labeled his outing on Sunday as the ‘perfect execution’ by everyone involved in the Milton Keynes crew.
A great day for us. Lap 1 was a bit unlucky but after that we were flying. The car was really enjoyable, I could manage the pace and we pitted at the right time. Just fantastic execution by everyone.

Max Verstappen aims to take 2025 season ‘step by step’
The 2025 season now only has eight races left until completion, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri being in the clear lead. It might be next to impossible for Max Verstappen to trump Piastri for the championship win this year. But, after the Italian GP win, Verstappen’s deficit to Lando Norris has been cut down to 63 points. Anything can happen in the final few races and the Dutchman will aim to give it his all.

Still, Max Verstappen isn’t too confident or arrogant about his chances to trump Lando Norris this season. Verstappen insisted that he would take the remainder of the season step by step without any massive hopes. Race by race, the Dutchman can beat Norris for the runner-up spot in the championship standings. Regardless, the four-time champion labeled Red Bull and their outing in Monza as ‘unbelievable’.
Step by step, race by race but this was for us an unbelievable weekend.
Max Verstappen noted
Red Bull is exceptionally strong when it comes to the straight speeds. The Azerbaijan GP is up next, and the street circuit might not favor Max Verstappen and the team’s performance this year. Regardless, Verstappen has acheived the unthinkable on many occasions, and it would be interesting to witness what is in the cards next for the reigning world champion.
