Red Bull’s struggling pace has continued to showcase throughout the final leg of the 2024 season as well. The team had minimal hopes of a dominant performance at the frigid Las Vegas GP. Max Verstappen is still on the trajectory to win the 2024 championship at Las Vegas if he finishes ahead of Lando Norris. However, the Dutchman could only score a P5 start for the race as he pointed out the problems.

The Las Vegas GP is expected to have some of the coldest temperatures during a Formula 1 race. The circuit temperature dropped down to 11 degrees as the drivers faced gripping issues. Max Verstappen had already faced grip issues during the practice sessions and suffered from the same during qualifying.

Verstappen took to the team radio to highlight that he ‘gave it’ his all during the final lap of the qualifying. However, the Dutchman couldn’t contend for the pole position due to the track being ‘super slippery’. Regardless, the team is hopeful of the 27-year-old fending off Lando Norris for the championship as the latter has qualified in P6, just behind the championship leader.
