Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen did not have the smoothest of outings during the three-day British Grand Prix weekend. The Dutchman was struggling with one thing or the other and after his P2 finish in yesterday’s race, he has admitted that the RB20 was ‘too slow’ in comparison to rival outfits.

McLaren has proved to be extremely quick since the last few races but, surprisingly, Mercedes also had a strong pace around Silverstone. This is one of the reasons why Lewis Hamilton was able to triumph in the 52-lap event.

Seeing the quick pace of the papaya and the Brackley-based team, Max Verstappen feels Red Bull’s package was just not good enough.

We maximized the result. We made all the right calls, I think, with when to stop. But if you look at the performance of the car throughout the race, we were of course, too slow. We couldn't really follow Mercedes and McLaren.

Looking at the reaction of the three-time world champion, it is quite clear that he is a bit gutted after missing out on the British GP win. Moreover, he has indicated that there is work to be done on the RB20 ahead of Round 13 of the 2024 F1 season.

Christian Horner feels British GP proved ‘horrible’ for Sergio Perez

While Verstappen was able to muster up a second-place finish in Silverstone, his teammate, Sergio Perez had a horrendous outing as he ended up in P17. Red Bull boss, Christian Horner feels nothing went the way of Perez at the event.

The 34-year-old was even knocked out in Q1 on Saturday after parking his car in the gravel.

It's been a horrible weekend for Checo, we went for a gamble with the inters but it didn't pay off, the track was too dry. You either win a lot or lose a lot and unfortunately, he loses a lot to that point, but the pace just wasn't quite there today.

The British Grand Prix weekend is done and dusted and next up on the F1 calendar is the Hungarian Grand Prix. The event will kick off on the 19th of July and considering this, there is ample time for Red Bull to review what went wrong in Silverstone so that they come as prepared as possible for the event at the infamous Hangororing. It will be fascinating to see how the RB20 would stack up against rivals around the 4.3 km track.
