Max Verstappen is a true racer through and through. The Dutchman participated in a GT3 race session at the Nordschleife mid-way through the 2025 season. In the customary Verstappen way, the four-time F1 champion made a daring overtake in the race to win the session ultimately. The 28-year-old recalled how the overtake was much scarier than anticipated and left fans truly ‘s**tting themselves’.

Back in September 2025, Max Verstappen raced around the Nurburgring over an off-weekend in Formula 1. The Dutchman not only achieved a Grade A permit following a successful debut over the initial sessions, but he also showed up in style and won the GT3 race with Ferrari. During the race, Verstappen had to commit to an extremely dangerous overtake at the Green Hell.

During the overtake, Max Verstappen sent half of his Ferrari GT3 off-track, which might have ended in a massive catastrophe. Though the 28-year-old was able to overtake the rival right in front of him with no mishaps. Still, Verstappen recalled that he thought to himself about what the fans’ reaction might be to such a seemingly daring move at the Nordschleife.

Max Verstappen recalled that during his GT3 debut, the track was great, especially with the rainy conditions during qualifying, which maximized his winning chances. The Dutchman pointed out that he was aware of the onboard camera being on and fans watching his move on track. The four-time F1 champion thought to himself that the fans certainly would be ‘sh**ting themselves’ after watching the move. Regardless, Verstappen had a lot of fun over the session, more so after winning his debut race.

First of all, the track is great, like everything was really nice and also the conditions with a bit of rain in qualifying. As soon as I went over the grass, I was like: ‘I know the onboard is on, and people are watching it, and I was like: ‘I am sure they are shitting themselves right now.’ But it was fantastic, I had a lot of fun.

Max Verstappen insisted that one needed to never give up and always believe in themselves. The 28-year-old highlighted that he learnt to put things in perspective and not worry about past mistakes. Verstappen recalled that there was no point anticipating good things to happen, as anything could change in an instant and spiral out of control. As such, the four-time champion was always prepared for any challenges that might come up in his career.

Never give up on anything. Always believe. Over the course of my career, I’ve learned to put things into perspective and not worry too much about the future. There’s no point in anticipating outcomes, because everything can change in an instant. The only thing you can do is stay prepared.
