The F1 film starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, produced by F1’s very own Lewis Hamilton, is all set to release in theatres on 27th June. The film is set to depict realistic scenes from the sport as the film’s lead producer, Joseph Kosinski, left no stone unturned to make it true to real life. Many drivers of the current paddock are set to be showcased in the film during different scenes. However, Max Verstappen, who is known to have an aversion towards such F1 antics, issued an uninterested statement on the film.

The F1 film will showcase real drivers and teams alongside the fictional APXGP team. Many teams, particularly Red Bull, had the fear of being painted as villains in the movie due to their dominance in recent years. However, the directors and producers assured that there was no such propaganda in the film against any existing team or driver.

Max Verstappen is a no-nonsense driver who doesn’t really enjoy these activities in Formula 1 and doesn’t hesitate to put forth his blunt thoughts. Verstappen has also berated Netflix’s Drive to Survive docuseries on multiple occasions in the past. As such, the 27-year-old has remained indifferent in his opinion about the F1 film releasing soon. Despite the massive funding and work done behind the movie to make it as realistic as possible, the reigning world champion doesn’t consider it important for the sport.

Verstappen revealed that there were talks about him acting in the film while driving on the track. However, as depicted by the movie trailer released recently, the Dutchman has only made a handful of appearances in the film, compared to others who are more prominent. Regardless of the four-time champion achieving two title wins throughout the filming, he hasn’t acted in the film. The 27-year-old reckoned that it was fine and remained unbothered as he isn’t racing in the pinnacle of motorsport to be acting out in a movie.

We discussed it, but ultimately it didn’t really happen. But that’s fine. It’s not why I’m here.

Max Verstappen brutally asserts F1 film doesn’t ‘excite’ him

Max Verstappen is too busy racing in Formula 1 in real life to care about acting in a fictional picture about his sport. The Dutchman reportedly opted out of appearing in any scenes alongside Brad Pitt despite the latter being a highly decorated Hollywood actor. Moreover, Verstappen remained unenthusiastic about the movie despite it promising a great boost of popularity for the untapped markets of audiences.

In the typical Verstappen fashion, he issued a distasteful statement against the release of the F1 film. The reigning world champion asserted that watching the movie or even acting in it was something that didn’t excite him much. As such, it is understandable why the 27-year-old has no major appearances in the movie despite dominating the grid since the filming process began.

It’s not something that really excites me.

Max Verstappen noted

The four-time champion is too busy performing at the peak of his career in the pinnacle of motorsport. Verstappen will now prepare for the upcoming Monaco GP as he aims to extend his winning streak this season. The 27-year-old might not even bother to watch the film as he might be too busy spending time with his family, especially his newborn daughter Lily with Kelly Piquet. Though, millions of Red Bull fans would surely miss the Dutchman’s presence from the big screen.
