Max Verstappen has been driving in a league of his own in Formula 1 since winning his first title in 2021. The three-time world champion dominated the sport at the start of the ground-effect era. However, it seems that the Dutch driver will need to buckle up at his home race this weekend.
Red Bull has lost its pace advantage this season as rivals, particularly Mercedes and McLaren have even outperformed Milton Keynes. So much so, that even Dr. Helmut Marko admitted that the RB20 is now a difficult beast to drive.
Max Verstappen has gone winless for four races for the time since 2020. This must be ringing alarm bells at Milton Keynes. As it is necessary for the reigning world champion to bounce back in front of his home fans to solidify himself as the favorite for the 2024 world title.
Max Verstappen is in dire need of a race victory
The 2024 F1 season has seen seven different race winners. However, Max Verstappen has won the most races with seven victories to his name, Lewis Hamilton is a distant second with two race wins this season. Nevertheless, recent races show that Mercedes and McLaren seem to have an upper hand over Red Bull in terms of pure pace.

Red Bull has reportedly realized that the team’s approach for the RB20 was too aggressive. The Austrian giant now needs to find the right balance for the car which could enable Verstappen to bounce back this weekend. Ultimately, Zandvoort would be crucial to set the trajectory for Red Bull’s last ten races of 2024.
Max Verstappen can still match the rest of the grid due to his sheer driving abilities. The Dutch driver has shown that he doesn’t need the fastest car to win. As such, fans would hope that Verstappen can clinch victory in front of the ‘Orange Army’ to safeguard his fourth consecutive F1 world title.
