Since F1’s last Grand Prix in Singapore, drivers have got much-needed rest to get ready for the triple header starting from this week’s race in Austin. Red Bull star Max Verstappen and her girlfriend Kelly Piquet utilized this break by going to Portugal and attending Porsche factory Formula E racer Felix da Costa‘s wedding.
Felix da Costa tied the knot with Inẽs Castro last Saturday at their family farm in Alentejo, Portugal. The wedding was star-studded with Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet also being present among the various esteemed guests.
Subsequently, Piquet shared a photo of her wearing a red dress while the Dutchman wore a classic attire to the wedding.
On the other hand, the wedding went smoothly on Costa’s family farm in Portugal. The Portuguese driver had been repping up for the wedding for over a year since he proposed to her now-wife Castro. He was visibly very ecstatic to marry her long-time partner.
Max Verstappen calls out people for speculating on Red Bull’s downfall
While Verstappen had been enjoying his time off track in Portugal, his venture on track has not been fruitful as of late. This has led experts to conspire on the potential FIA clampdown on asymmetrical braking earlier this year to be the root cause of RB20’s woes.
However, this theory did not go down well with the 27-year-old, he explained that he does not give attention to such a hypothesis.
With Verstappen expressing his discontentment with speculations, people might refrain from spreading rumors in the paddock. Moreover, Red Bull is on course to bring upgrades at the US GP and would want to do their all in aiding the Dutchman to defend the driver’s title.
However, McLaren is also expected to bring an upgrade package to Austin. This would help Lando Norris in making further dents in Verstappen’s 52-point lead in the remaining six Grand Prix of the extremely exciting 2024 F1 season.
