Andrea Stella has praised his McLaren Formula 1 team for their strong runs this season. The Woking-based outfit currently stands second in the Constructors championship, trailing the leader, Red Bull, by only 42 points.

The Papayas have shown tremendous pace and promise with their MCL38, amassing 366 points in 14 Grand Prix. The team has achieved a lot despite bringing in very few upgrades since the Miami event.

Andrea Stella has therefore talked about bringing in greater and more potent upgrades during the second half of 2024. Stella is convinced of the team’s experimentation and observation, which is a strong basis for making changes to the MCL38.

But definitely, I can talk for McLaren. We seem to be now in condition to cash in some of this development that we have accrued in the ground. I would expect that for the second part of the season, we will have at multiple times some new parts.

McLaren has only won twice despite being on the front row in almost every race this season. They will now hope for a better turn of fortune as Formula 1 gets underway at Zandvoort after a month-long summer break.

Lando Norris talks about the need for improvement to ace the title battle

McLaren driver Lando Norris has not been utterly clinical at the crux of a race this season. Norris has only a single win to his name despite being on the podium eight times, which summarizes his performance as a whole.

So even though I'm still in the fight and that kind of thing, I need to still improve that bit more in order to confidently say: I'm in with a chance.
Lando Norris told RacingNews365

Lando Norris believes that he requires more in order to truly be a contender for the title this season. He stands second in the driver’s title race, trailing Max Verstappen, who currently leads by a staggering 78 points.

The 24-year-old has improved wholly on several fronts for the Papayas this year but will need something magical to catch up to Max Verstappen. It will be extremely important for Norris to instantly hit the ground running from Zandvoort onwards.
