McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has praised Ferrari for their stellar home win at Monza on Sunday. Charles Leclerc successfully pulled off a daring one-stop strategy to take away the Italian GP crown despite starting the 53-lap race in fourth position.
Charles Leclerc, along with the Maranello-based team, has been on an ever-improving spell ever since the Belgian GP. The Reds started the season on a high note but showed incompetency in their bouts halfway through.
Andrea Stella has thereafter deemed Ferrari’s upsurge as positive news for the Papayas. Stella claimed that the Woking-based team ultimately benefits from the Italian team’s challenging form against Red Bull in the constructors’ championship.
Ferrari were as competitive as us, which for us is somehow bad news, because it meant that we couldn't simply cruise in the race. But at the same time, it's good news, because we have more cars that can take points off Red Bull.Andrea Stella said after the Italian Grand Prix
Andrea Stella sees the glass half-full: "Ferrari were as competitive as us, which for us is somehow bad news, because it meant that we couldn't simply cruise in the race. But at the same time, it's good news, because we have more cars that can take points away off Red Bull…"

Stella, however, also assessed the situation as a mixed outcome for McLaren, who will now have to overcome an in-form Ferrari side as well. The remaining eight races will now provide an enthralling three-way battle between the top teams as Formula 1 heads to Baku for the next race.
Christian Horner aims a dig towards McLaren’s tactics at Italian GP
McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri battled from the very start of the race at Monza. Piastri overtook Norris to lead secure the during the first lap itself, following which, the former was criticized for his move.
I don't know what the papaya rules are. But I'm sure they nearly took themselves out of the race at the second chicane. From a driver's championship point of view, it helped us out a bit.Christian Horner told GPblog
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has ridiculed the Papaya rules after the race on Sunday. Horner claimed that the tussle between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri helped Red Bull in the drivers’ championship.
Christian Horner indirectly asserted that lack of coordination between the two cost the Woking-based team the win at Monza. While the Papayas have been impressive in their outings so far, a few issues remain to be addressed within the team.
