McLaren makes a ‘poison biscuits’ remark after amassing first constructors world championship in 26 years

The McLaren Formula 1 team managed to pull off what was, for decades, seen as impossible! Lando Norris and Co. managed to amass their first constructors’ world championship in 26 years at the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP.
The world has come forward to shower praise on the Woking-based team, and amidst this, Andrea Stella has emphasized that his team can’t slow down. Moreover, in light of this, he has also made an extremely fascinating ‘poison biscuits’ remark.
We will always have poison biscuits dropped in our cup, and we will always have poison biscuits dropped in an attempt to create division, to break the cohesion that we have in the team. But we talk every day that we are not going to pick the poison biscuit. It would be very naive and very arrogant to think we have achieved something, that we are perfect, and now we can relax because we are world champions.

The McLaren team boss does not want any kind of external influence to have an effect on his team. Moreover, he believes that the 2024 constructors’ is just the start of the journey. There are many worthwhile things to achieve in Formula 1 going ahead into the coming years. The papaya outfit amassed the title with 666 points in comparison to second-placed Ferrari’s 652.

While Andrea Stella has urged his team to stay focused on their work, he has also taken the time to thank everyone. The 53-year-old is fully aware of the work his team put in to produce the beast the MCL38 turned out to be from Miami onwards.
From a management point of view, when you are solid from a management point of view, you are trusted. When you start to deliver on the investment that was necessary, then you can compete at the top. You cannot achieve this standard, this operation, this reliability without every one of the 1,000 people to operate at a very high level.

With the 2024 constructors’ done and dusted, the goal for the 2025 Formula 1 season has to be the constructors’ as well as the drivers’ championship. Lando Norris was in with a chance this year. However, his deficit to Red Bulls’ Max Verstappen was too much to overturn.
McLaren has two highly skilled drivers in its arsenal. Considering this, their management will be key in 2025. Norris and Oscar Piastri had a few flashpoints in the recently concluded season and next year’s drivers’ title tussle could very well turn out to be a brawl between the two. The papaya outfit’s fate could get decided by how they manage the tough on-track situations in the coming season.
